Entry Requirements
Vietnam is not so strict on entry visa requirements like other countries. Below is list of things you will need to know before you enter Vietnam.
All travelers must present a valid passport to enter Vietnam. Certain nationals are required to obtain a visa prior to arrival, while others can enter without a visa.
Mandatory Requirements (for obtaining a visa in advance from the embassy)
- A valid passport with at least 02 blank pages and 6 months of validity remaining beyond your intended stay
- Proof of onward travel (although this is rarely requested)
- Visa application form (available at https://visa.mofa.gov.vn/_layouts/registration/ApplicationForm.aspx)
- Two recent passport-sized photos
- Visa application fees
Mandatory Requirements (for applying for a visa on arrival online)
- Travelers must arrive in Vietnam by air through one of the following airports: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, or Da Nang.
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of exit.
- Two passport photos sized 4 x 6 cm (for specifications, please see photo requirements).
In most situations, you do NOT need to provide the following:
- Proof of sufficient finances
- Vaccination certificate
- Detailed travel plans, including hotel reservations
