- Six (06) months validity passport rule: Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining and at least two blank pages. Failing to meet these requirements will result in denied entry to Vietnam. If your passport is nearing expiration, it is time to renew it.
- Vietnam offers a convenient visa-on-arrival process for travelers. However, a pre-approved visa letter from the Immigration Office is required. Be sure to obtain this approval letter before your arrival.
- The visa-on-arrival option is available only for travelers arriving by air. If you enter Vietnam by land or sea, it is advisable to obtain your visa in advance or apply for an e-visa.
- Visa extensions for a single entry to Vietnam cannot exceed the duration of the original visa. For example, if you hold a 90-day single-entry visa, you can extend it for a maximum of another 90 days.
- It is not advisable to carry your passport at all times. If you lose it, you may face difficulties obtaining a replacement in time for your flight home. Therefore, keep it secure!
- As of 2025, there are no photo services or machines available at Vietnamese airports. It is recommended to prepare at least two passport-sized photos prior to landing in Vietnam.
- You do not need an airport transit visa for Vietnam if you are traveling on a transit flight or if you are a crew member of the aircraft.
