Hanoi Bus

Hanoi's public buses conveniently stop at various designated points throughout the city, many of which are located near iconic tourist attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, The Old Quarter, Hanoi Train Station (Ga Hanoi), Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the Temple of Literature.

Here are some essential bus routes in Hanoi:

#07 and #17

These two public buses serve Noi Bai International Airport, the primary gateway to Northern Vietnam. The #07 bus travels across the Thang Long Bridge to Cau Giay, while the #17 bus routes through the Old Quarter via Chuong Duong Bridge.

#33 and #02

Buses on these routes will transport you to the vicinity of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. From there, you can explore the lush boulevards, such as Dien Bien Phu and Le Hong Phong, before visiting the Ho Chi Minh Complex.

#09

This bus route takes you to Hoan Kiem Lake, where you can enjoy the scenic surroundings and venture into the bustling Old Quarter. The #09 bus also makes stops at significant points along Le Hong Phong and Dien Bien Phu streets, allowing access to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and nearby areas.

However, it’s important to note that buses can become crowded during peak hours. Ensure that you keep your belongings secure; it’s advisable to hold your purse close or position your backpack in front of you, as bustling buses can attract pickpockets.

As your bus approaches your intended stop, try to make your way towards the back door. Be prepared for a quick exit, as drivers in Hanoi are known for brief stop durations. If you're uncertain about when to disembark, feel free to ask the driver, the ticket collector, or other passengers for assistance. Although it can seem daunting, navigating the bus system in Hanoi offers a unique and immersive local experience.
