Every year, Vietnamese children eagerly anticipate this special occasion, traditionally occurring in September or October (August 15 of the Lunar Year). This celebration is essentially a national holiday in Vietnam, where families come together, cousins reunite, and friends gather to celebrate the season.
Traditionally, the holiday is a time for farmers to honor their successful harvests. People present a variety of offerings, including grapefruits representing the moon, Banh Nuong and Banh Deo made with common ingredients, along with other seasonal fruits. While this custom persists today, in urban areas, the focus has shifted to providing enjoyable experiences for children.
