Hue Festival kicks off at Kien Trung Palace

Kien Trung Palace, one of the five significant constructions built and preserved by the Nguyen Dynasty, has a rich history. Initially completed in 1923 under King Khai Dinh's decree, the palace faced destruction during wartime after just 24 years of existence. Following extensive restoration efforts that began in February 2019, the palace officially reopened to visitors in February 2025, offering an opportunity to appreciate its historical significance and architectural beauty.

During a press conference on May 9, 2025, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, the Chairman of the People's Committee revealed that the Hue Festival Week 2025 is scheduled to take place from June 7 to June 12. This festival features a series of events thoughtfully crafted to incorporate modern technological elements, including laser projections, LED matrices, holograms, and 3D mapping. The staged performances promise to immerse visitors and locals alike in an extraordinary and modern artistic space, akin to being "immersed in a dream."

Over the course of the 6-day festival, the city of Hue plans to hold a series of 8 standout events, each highlighting a unique aspect of the Ancient Capital. Specifically:

• The "Cultural Colors" street festival will occur in the evenings of June 8 and June 10, featuring an array of music and dance performances, street art, parades, and traditional folk performances.

• From June 8 to June 11, performances will be hosted at the Quoc Hoc Square community stage and 3/2 Park, showcasing 12 art groups from 7 countries, including France, Spain, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and China.

• On June 9, a remarkable music program titled "Trinh Cong Son Dialogue - Finding Love" will take place at the Kien Trung Palace stage, featuring captivating performances by renowned singers and artists.

• In addition to the main events, attendees can enjoy a variety of engaging activities including light festivals, beer festivals, vegetarian food fairs, and lantern festivals.

• The artistic program on the evening of June 12 will conclude the vibrant series of events marking the 2025 Hue Festival Week.
