Hue Festival kicks off at Kien Trung Palace
The opening ceremony of the 2024 Hue International Arts Festival Week will take place on the evening of June 7th at Kien Trung Palace.
Kien Trung Palace is one of the five important constructions built and preserved by the Nguyen Dynasty. Initially completed in 1923 under King Khai Dinh's decree, it was destroyed during the war after 24 years. Reconstruction began in February 2019, and it officially opened to visitors this February.
During a press conference held on the afternoon of May 9th, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province announced that the Hue Festival Week 2024 will run from June 7th to 12th. This is a series of meticulously planned events, leveraging the support of modern technological equipment such as laser projection, LED matrix, Holograms, and 3D Mapping. Alongside the staged performances, the event promises to bring visitors and locals an extraordinary and modern artistic space, as if "immersing themselves in a dream".

Specifically, during the 6-day festival week, the city of Hue plans to organize a series of 8 outstanding events, each highlighting a unique feature of the Ancient Capital. To be more specific:
The "Cultural Colors" street festival will take place in the evenings of June 8th and 10th, featuring music and dance performances, street arts, parades, and folk performances.
From June 8th to 11th, at the Quoc Hoc Square community stage and 3/2 Park, there will be performances by 12 art groups from 7 countries including France, Spain, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and China.
On June 9th, at the Kien Trung Palace stage, there will be a spectacular music program called "Trinh Cong Son Dialogue - Finding Love", featuring impressive performances by famous singers and artists.
Alongside these main events, there will be various exciting experiential activities for visitors to explore such as light festivals, beer festivals, vegetarian food festivals, and lantern festivals.
The artistic program on the evening of June 12th will conclude the vibrant series of events of the 2024 Hue Festival Week.

50% discount on admission tickets for Hue monuments
With a purpose to promote local tourism, Hue Monuments Conservation Center has offered a 50% discount on all entrance tickets to the cultural - historical relics belonging to the ancient capital complex of Hue for both foreign and domestic visitors. The discount applies from now until August 31st, 2021.
