Durians

About Vietnam's durians (Sầu riêng):

Five or six times larger than a mango, durian is a unique fruit characterized by its thick, rough skin, covered with sharp thorns. Initially, one may find the aroma of durian extremely strong and unpleasant, to the extent that many airlines still restrict passengers from bringing this fruit on board. However, for those who develop a taste for it, durian can be truly delightful.

Upon gently cutting the outer shell, one is greeted by layers of bright yellow segments of fruit that glisten like butter. It possesses a distinct flavor reminiscent of rich honey and is packed with nutrients. The saying goes, "Smell like hell, taste like heaven," perfectly encapsulating the dual nature of durians.
