Vietnam in Two Weeks
Two weeks is a popular time frame that many families, couples, and solo travelers choose for their trip to Vietnam. Many integrate this into their journey around Southeast Asia, while others partake as part of their summer vacation or holiday break.
With two weeks available, your itinerary can be more diverse than what a one-week plan offers. To explore more of the country, flying between destinations could be your best option, thanks to Vietnam's extensive network of domestic flights. This is especially advantageous considering the vast distances from North to South and the still-developing road conditions. You can also adjust your itinerary based on your arrival airport (Hanoi, Da Nang, or Ho Chi Minh City).

Days 5-8: Hue and Hoi An
A fantastic way to experience Central Vietnam is to follow our three-day itinerary for Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang. Very few travelers leave Hoi An without falling in love with its charm, so be sure to allocate ample time here. In Hue, numerous tours are available in the downtown tourist area. If you find navigating the city challenging, consider joining a guided tour to maximize your experience in a shorter time.Photo: Shutterstock
On Days 9-10, you can head to Nha Trang and Mui Ne. Nha Trang offers a truly stunning sun, sea, and sand experience, with beaches often listed among the world's best. It is perfect for various water activities, including windsurfing and snorkeling. If you prefer a more tranquil atmosphere, Mui Ne is a great alternative, featuring beautiful sand dunes nearby. In the summer, you can explore giant dragon fruit gardens and enjoy these local fruits at incredibly low prices. Both Nha Trang and Mui Ne boast vibrant morning markets, especially rich with fresh seafood, making them ideal destinations for seafood lovers.Photo: Shutterstock
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City
Make your way to Ho Chi Minh City next. Frequent buses connect Ho Chi Minh City with both Nha Trang and Mui Ne; however, expect the journey from Nha Trang to take considerably longer.Photo: Shutterstock
Days 12-14: Southern Vietnam and Mekong Delta
For ideas on spending your time in the South of Vietnam, check our Day Trips near Ho Chi Minh City guide. If you have extra time, consider booking a tour to visit the floating market near Can Tho or head to Ben Tre to sample local cuisines. Learning to grill fresh water fish wrapped in banana leaves or making traditional coconut candies may become a highlight of your two-week adventure in Vietnam.Photo: baonhandan.com.vn
