Vietnam to build ports for cruises

Mr. Kelvin, the Asia branch director of a leading American cruise line, states that Vietnam has the potential to maximize its use of cruises and become a prime destination for international cruise companies. Specifically, Vietnam can facilitate voyages to Singapore with up to two cruises per week, each accommodating approximately 3,600 passengers.
As of now, popular cruise destinations in Vietnam include Ha Long, Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, and Ho Chi Minh City. The cruise products and services are anticipated to significantly boost Vietnam's tourism industry. To fully capitalize on cruise tourism, Vietnam must invest in enhancing its infrastructure and high-end tourism offerings, particularly by developing dedicated cruise ports.
In July 2025, the number of foreign arrivals in Vietnam reached 975,000, marking a 12.5% increase compared to the previous month. Overall, during the first seven months of 2025, total arrivals surged to 6,123,000, which is a 15% increase over the same period the year prior. Notably, arrivals by sea have shown remarkable growth, escalating by 65% and reaching 63,800 visitors.
