Although Tet (or Vietnam Lunar New Year) is another 3 months away, many plans already get going to deal with the high volume of transportation, tourism and purchasing power. As an important stakeholder, Vietnam Airlines has announced it will add at least 846 more flights to the already expansive domestic flight network.
The flights will especially be designated to popular routes such as Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City - Danang. With an expected rise in about 11% of traffic, the 846 flights will allow almost 170,000 seats more, bringing Vietnamese home for the long holiday while allowing tourists to travel without difficulty.
Still, it is recommended that you book your flight early if you plan to travel in late January or early February to Vietnam. Previous Tet holidays in Vietnam often see overload in both flights and trains, when numerous city people return to the countryside for family reunion.
