Historically known for being the lowest area in the Mekong River delta, Dong Thap province is a must-visit for those seeking an exotic experience in a lush wetland environment.

Over millions of years, the wetland has been shaped by the rich alluvial deposits brought by the Tien and Hau Rivers.

These two rivers play a crucial role in making the Dong Thap Muoi area, totaling 250,731 hectares, and the Tien and Hau River area, covering 73,074 hectares, regarded as Vietnam’s third-largest rice-producing region, yielding approximately 3 million tons of rice annually.

Dong Thap offers stunning natural scenery for visitors, including expansive rice paddies that stretch to the horizon where flocks of white birds soar; tranquil villages adorned with millions of colorful flowers; handmade dugout canoes laden with floral arrangements ready for sale; and locally cultivated lotus fields, perfuming the air with their enticing scent.
