Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City > Cu Chi Tunnels
In the morning, visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, and the Reunification Palace. Explore the War Remnants Museum, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, embark on a half-day tour to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, originally built during the Vietnam War. Watch a short introductory video on the construction of the tunnels, then spend an hour exploring them. Enjoy tea and cassava, traditional food during the war. Dinner is at your own expense. Proceed to Tortoise Islet for lunch in an orchard garden. Take a boat ride to An Khanh, a less touristy destination in Ben Tre, and enjoy cruising in a hand-rowed sampan. In the morning, you will be picked up for a day city tour of Hanoi, including visits to the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum, The Presidential Palace, House on Stilts, and One Pillar Pagoda). Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.
