Vietnam Tourism Expects To Be Fully Resumed From June 2022

According to the latest plans from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam has successfully resumed various tourist destinations starting in November 2023. The country aims to fully reopen its borders to international tourists by June 2025.

In a recent meeting, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism announced that domestic tourism has been gradually restarted, with activities tailored for travelers from regions deemed safe, where the COVID-19 situation is under control. Visitors must adhere to current health protocols, which include presenting a valid vaccination certificate, a negative COVID-19 test result (either PCR or rapid test), submitting a health declaration, and following the "5K message" along with utilizing health apps mandated by the Vietnam Ministry of Health.

Previously, Phu Quoc was initially chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to kick off a pilot program for welcoming international travelers in package tours from November 2021 to March 2022. Following this, cities like Ha Long, Hoi An, Nha Trang, and Da Lat were included in plans to reopen for inbound tourism from December 2021 through June 2022. As of 2025, these destinations continue to be major attractions for both domestic and international travelers.
