Pilot Plan To Welcome Foreign Tourists To Phu Quoc Applied For Package Tours
After receiving the approval for its trial program to welcome international tourists under vaccine passports, Phu Quoc is set to accept travelers on package tours through licensed travel agencies. This initiative reflects Vietnam's ongoing recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and aligns with its goal to boost tourism.

The program targets visitors from countries identified as low-risk in relation to Covid-19, including regions in Northeast Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Europe, who are looking for beach and resort vacation experiences.
Travelers are required to present proof of full vaccination or a valid Covid-19 recovery certificate, both of which must be issued within 12 months of their arrival date, along with a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to departure. Additionally, health insurance covering Covid-19 treatment and confirmed travel insurance commitments must be obtained through their travel agencies. Any visitors exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 upon entry will be subjected to quarantine protocols.
Children under 12 years old can accompany their parents or guardians, provided that the accompanying adults meet all outlined requirements.
Moreover, all foreign travelers are obligated to download and install designated travel applications to facilitate health declarations upon arrival. They must utilize approved transportation for their scheduled programs and adhere to the Health Ministry’s guidelines regarding Covid-19 prevention measures throughout their stay.
As of 2023, Phu Quoc aims to welcome between 3,000 and 5,000 foreign tourists during the initial three-month phase of the pilot program, which commenced in October 2021. Adjustments to the succeeding phase will be based on the outcomes of the first period.
