Two gorgeous grottoes recently found in Quang Binh

On August 4th, 2021, Ho Khanh, a renowned guide specializing in grotto exploration in Quang Binh, announced the discovery of two new grottoes in the area.
The grotto named Grotto 97 spans 765 meters, while Grotto 98 measures 750 meters in length. Although these lengths are shorter compared to other explored grottoes in Quang Binh, their allure is complemented by hundreds of stunning stalactites. According to Ho Khanh, the ceilings of these grottoes soar to heights of 60 meters, with some stalactites reaching up to 30 meters. Remarkably, the floors of these grottoes appear to have a smooth and flat surface, suggesting they have been elegantly shaped, which contrasts with the more irregular floors common to other grottoes.
The names of the two grottoes were chosen by Ho Khanh to commemorate the time he lost his way during a forest exploration trip in 1997 and 1998.
Grottoes 97 and 98 are located within the World Natural Heritage Site Phong Nha-Ke Bang, recognized as one of the most impressive grotto systems globally. The discovery of these two new grottoes further highlights the stunning beauty of the grotto system in Quang Binh, enhancing its appeal as a destination for adventurous explorers.
