Beyond passenger traffic, the rankings consider passenger feedback on various factors such as infrastructure, service quality, personnel, and operational procedures from over 500 airports worldwide.

According to Skytrax, the survey utilizes data from 2023 air traffic statistics, focusing on airports that cater to a similar volume of customers for a fair comparison.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport welcomed around 18 million passengers in 2021, significantly rebounding from the sharp decline in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw passenger numbers plummet to approximately 22 million. The airport has also made significant upgrades to its terminals, introducing advanced screening facilities. Moreover, it has maintained its Airport Health Accreditation, a testament to the successful implementation of health and safety measures in response to the pandemic.
