New Routes Connecting Vietnam with US, UK by Vietnam Airlines

Leaving the discussion of profits and losses aside, the national carrier Vietnam Airlines has successfully opened direct air routes to both the US and the UK, making it the first and only airline in Vietnam to offer these direct services. This significant achievement has been in the making over the past several months, and the airline has seen a positive response from travelers eager to benefit from these new options.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines offers four direct air routes to major cities in Europe, including Moscow, Paris, Frankfurt, and London. The destination airport for flights to the UK is still Gatwick Airport, located approximately 46 kilometers from central London. Initially, the route commenced with four flights per week, and as of 2025, it has expanded to a daily service of seven flights per week, making travel more accessible than ever (read more about the sales on this new route).
Other airlines operating flights from Vietnam to the UK, such as British Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Thai Airways, Emirates, and Singapore Airlines, continue to require at least one layover on their routes. Regarding the direct air route to the US, Vietnam Airlines has worked diligently to meet the safety requirements set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) which has allowed them to successfully operate these flights.
