True to its name, the exhibition highlights the challenging lives of Vietnamese single mothers through 100 photographs taken by the mothers themselves.
The primary subjects of these images are 18 single mothers from Tan Minh commune, Soc Son, Hanoi, who confront societal prejudice and feelings of insecurity. The exhibition aims to foster empathy among viewers for single mothers in Vietnam and to challenge and reduce the stigma and discrimination faced by this demographic.

While being a single mother is not a new issue, it continues to be a contentious topic in Vietnam. Some view single mothers as courageous individuals, while others hold more conservative beliefs. In recent years, the phenomenon of single motherhood has gained recognition in Vietnam's urban centers, where single mothers often experience more societal support compared to their counterparts in rural areas.
