Hanoi new plan on developing tourism focuses on six clusters
Hanoi People’s Council has approved a proposal by tourism administration of the city to develop 6 crucial clusters in different locations both in downtown and suburb area.
The Hanoi People’s Council has recently approved a proposal from the city’s tourism administration to develop six key clusters in various locations throughout the downtown and suburban areas. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of the city’s tourism sector and attract more visitors.
Among the selected destinations in the city center are the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Museum and Relic Complex, and Hoan Kiem Lake, along with the historic Old Quarter surrounding these sites.
The three suburban destinations primarily focus on natural attractions, ideal for promoting ecological, leisure, and spiritual tourism activities. These include the Son Tay - Ba Vi area, Huong Son Pagoda along with the Quan Son Lake area, and the Soc Temple in conjunction with Dong Quan Lake.
As of 2025, Hanoi has seen rapid growth in the tourism sector; however, its infrastructure and services still struggle to fully meet tourist demands. Many visitors tend to have shorter stays or view the city merely as a transit point to popular destinations like Ha Long Bay or Sapa.
