As part of this week’s “Art Corner Wednesday Afternoon” – a weekly program organized by the center – attendees will explore the origin and history of Dong Ho paintings, as well as the unique materials and the process involved in creating Do paper, a special type of paper used exclusively for these artworks. Moreover, experienced craftsmen from the Dong Ho village will provide hands-on guidance, allowing visitors to practice the fundamental steps in making their own Dong Ho painting.
This program presents an excellent opportunity not only for art enthusiasts but also for anyone interested in Vietnamese culture to delve deeper into this remarkable tradition. Dong Ho folk paintings are vibrant and often humorously depict daily life, while also embodying the hopes and wishes of people from the northern plains.
