846 more Vietnam Airlines flights to be added for Tet Holiday
Although Tet (or Vietnam Lunar New Year) is another 3 months away, many plans already get going to deal with the high volume of transportation, tourism and purchasing power.
Although Tet (or Vietnam Lunar New Year) is still a few months away, planning has already commenced for the surge in transportation, tourism, and consumer activity. As a key player in this sector, Vietnam Airlines has announced it will add at least 950 extra flights to its already extensive domestic flight network for Tet 2025.
These additional flights will focus on popular routes, particularly the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City corridor and the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route. With an anticipated increase of approximately 12% in passenger traffic this year, the new flights will provide nearly 200,000 additional seats, enabling both Vietnamese travelers to return home for the holiday and tourists to visit with greater ease.
It is highly advisable to book your flights early if you intend to travel to Vietnam in late January or early February. Historically, Tet holidays in Vietnam have seen significant congestion not only in air travel but also in the railway system, as many urban dwellers journey back to their rural hometowns for family reunions.
