Starting August 2, 2025, tourists visiting Hanoi will have the opportunity to explore a remarkable collection of over 140 historical jade items in the exhibit titled Vietnamese Antique Jade, hosted at the Hanoi Museum.
The items featured in this exhibit are a portion of the jade collection that was formerly held by the Louis Finot Museum prior to 1954. This selection showcases a small yet significant part of the extensive assemblage of thousands of artifacts housed at the Hanoi Museum. Visitors will encounter a variety of pieces, including exquisite jewelry, royal seals, Buddha statues, and tools crafted from jade, along with swords and paintings adorned with precious gems. These artifacts captivate onlookers not only with their stunning aesthetics but also with their profound historical significance. Some pieces in the collection date back over a thousand years, with many originating from the royal treasures of the Nguyen dynasty.
This exhibit represents a revitalizing effort by the Hanoi Museum following an extended period marked by a limited range of activities. The event's organizers aim to attract both local residents, who often seek new entertainment options, and international tourists and expatriates visiting the city during this time.
Additionally, this is excellent news for enthusiasts of jewelry and history, as the remainder of the collection at the Hanoi Museum will also be on display soon, located at 1 Trang Tien Street.
