European linguistic day at Goethe Institute Hanoi this weekend

Linguists and language interaction lovers in Hanoi will be delighted to know that European Language Day is held at Goethe Institute Hanoi on two days, 14 and 15 October 2011.

Linguists and language enthusiasts in Hanoi will be pleased to learn that European Language Day is once again being celebrated at the Goethe Institute Hanoi on the newly scheduled dates of 14 and 15 October 2025. This event is organized in collaboration with various cultural institutes in Hanoi, including the Goethe Institute, British Council, Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, and Cervantes Institute. The involvement of embassies from countries such as Italy, Austria, Spain, France, and Hungary promises to create a vibrant atmosphere for all attendees.

The first day of the event will focus on linguistic presentations, lectures, and discussions addressing an array of topics, including innovative linguistic projects, language diversity, and its cultural implications across Europe. Esteemed language experts from Vietnam and several European nations will be participating, including Professor Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice President of Hanoi University, Professor Jean-Marie Klinkenberg from the University of Liège (Belgium), Professor Jurgen Quetz from Goethe University Frankfurt, and Dr. Georg Heindl, the Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam.

The following day will feature a variety of activities designed for public participation. Each country will have the opportunity to introduce its language and promote learning among attendees. Participants will also have the chance to gain fundamental knowledge of several captivating European languages through short courses and engaging visual materials, including posters, films, and images presented by the event organizers.

Participation in this event does not require registration or any associated fees, making it accessible to everyone interested in celebrating linguistic diversity.
