In celebration of the National Day of Canada (July 1st), a Canadian Food Festival is set to take place from June 30th to July 31st in Hanoi.
The festival will be hosted at several prestigious restaurants in Hanoi, including Hai Cang Restaurant (for the opening ceremony), Don’s Tay Ho Restaurant, Asahi Sushi Restaurant, Nam Phuong Restaurant, San Ho Restaurant, Dep Restaurant, and the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel.
Throughout the month-long festival, visitors will have the chance to savor delectable dishes featuring a variety of Canadian cuisines. These offerings will include high-quality ingredients from Canada such as oysters, scallops, beef, lobster, and other specialties.
Aside from showcasing the rich culinary heritage and culture of Canada to the Vietnamese people, Deborah Chatsis, Canada's Ambassador to Vietnam, emphasizes that this festival presents an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese consumers and food companies to gain insights into the Canadian food industry, paving the way for potential collaborations in the future.
Canadian cuisine is significantly influenced by the culinary traditions of its historical colonizers, the French and British. Key ingredients commonly featured in Canadian dishes include seafood (such as lobster, crab, various fish, and oysters), a variety of vegetables, and beef.
