This cultural photo exhibition is organized by the National Archives Centre 1 in collaboration with the State Records Management and the Department of Archives, along with the Centre for Science and Culture Activities at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam. Set in a serene and open space, the exhibition showcases 80 carefully selected photographs and documents from the Imperial Archives of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Each exhibit authentically captures the royal festivities associated with the Lunar New Year. The exhibition is divided into three sections: one detailing the ceremonial preparations for the dignified Lunar New Year, another outlining the primary activities during royal celebrations, and the last focusing on the traditional customs observed by the imperial family at the dawn of the Lunar New Year. The manner in which the royalty celebrated Tet contrasts sharply with the contemporary practices embraced by the Vietnamese people today. Thus, the exhibition's organizers aspire for these treasured documents to serve as valuable resources for researchers and anyone interested in cultural and historical studies.

In the rapidly changing modern society, many customs are at risk of fading away and being forgotten. Tet serves as a moment for the Vietnamese people to reflect on and safeguard the cherished values of traditional culture. This exhibition is part of a series of meaningful initiatives aimed at conveying this message. The exhibition will remain open until February 23, 2025, at the Temple of Literature, located at 58 Quoc Tu Giam Street, Hanoi.
