Information from Hanoi Library indicates that the 3rd Comic Festival in Vietnam is set to occur at Hanoi Library from June 1 to June 8, 2025. This event is a collaborative effort between Kim Dong Publishing House and the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation (Belgium), supported by Hanoi Library.
This year's festival will feature a variety of activities focused on comics from both Vietnam and Belgium, including an exhibition of exceptional comic works by Belgian and Vietnamese artists, a conference on comic creation, and interactive talk shows with young comic enthusiasts in Vietnam. Highlights of the festival will include the exhibition “The Journey in the 9th Art: Comic Books of Wallonie-Bruxelles,” showcasing masterpieces from around 40 Belgian comic artists, as well as the exhibition “From Idea to Comic Books,” which presents about 30 works by 11 emerging Vietnamese artists.
A number of notable comic experts from both Vietnam and Belgium will participate in the festival, including renowned comic artists, editors, and representatives from publishing houses. Noteworthy figures include Jean Auquier, the Director of Belgian Comics and founder of the Comic Festival in Vietnam, and Jean-Claude Servais, a celebrated Belgian comic creator.
Having been successfully organized in 2010 and 2011, the Comic Festival in Vietnam serves as a vibrant platform for comic lovers and creators to connect and share their passion for comics. With the participation of international comics, attendees will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the global development of the comic industry.
