Vietnam Set To Resume International Flights In January 2022
As of 2025, with a high percentage of the population fully vaccinated and booster doses widely available, the Vietnamese government has fully resumed regular international flights. This reopening began on January 1st, 2022, and since then, it has expanded significantly to accommodate travelers from around the world.

Currently, flights are available to various international destinations including San Francisco and Los Angeles (USA), Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Vientiane (Laos), Beijing and Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), and Taipei (Taiwan).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work on mutual agreements regarding "vaccine passports," ensuring that entry processes remain streamlined for vaccinated travelers. Moreover, the Ministry of Health has established updated protocols regarding quarantine requirements, allowing fully vaccinated passengers to self-isolate upon arrival in Vietnam.
This decision has revitalized the airline industry, local tourism businesses, and brought hope to travelers, especially Vietnamese expatriates planning to return for the Tet holiday, which will be celebrated in late January 2025.
