Travelers to Hoi An Town (Quang Nam province) during the Lunar New Year 2025 can enjoy one of the most vibrant and enchanting festivals in Hoi An - the 17th Hoi An Lantern Competition.

The festival is scheduled to take place from 10 February 2025 (1 January 2025 on the Lunar Calendar) to 24 February 2025 (15 January on Lunar Calendar).

This event will be held throughout a large area of Hoi An Town, from An Hoi Bridge and Kazik Park to the doorsteps of various individual homes and boutique shops that are competing in this competition.

Participants include numerous traditional families, local businesses, individuals, and tourism companies from Hoi An and its surrounding areas.

Competitors will focus on major themes such as crafting traditional lanterns, blending modernity with tradition, and decorating venues like restaurants and hotels in the two wards of Minh An and Cam Pho. Each lantern creation is required to convey a unique and creative message related to the Lunar New Year 2025.

Attendees of this festival can expect to be immersed in a colorful and sparkling atmosphere created by hundreds of lanterns of various sizes, shapes, and hues. Hoi An is one of the most captivating tourist destinations for both Vietnamese and international visitors. The city has preserved its original architecture and traditions, showcasing a blend of cultural influences from across Asia, including significant contributions from China, Japan, and Korea, particularly reflected in its lantern culture.
