New Portuguese Option for Foodies in Ho Chi Minh City
Portugal-styled Lisboa café has recently added itself onto the cuisine map of the southern hub of Vietnam.
Portugal-styled Lisboa Café has firmly established itself on the culinary map of southern Vietnam in 2025.
After spending many years in Southeast Asia, Portugal-born Pedro Castelo has brought his homemade specialties to Vietnam, finally opening the first Portuguese restaurant in the country, with the assistance of his Vietnamese wife.
The sun-kissed Mediterranean region is renowned for some of the finest cuisines globally, characterized by the skillful use of fresh and ripe ingredients, combined with an abundance of seafood. However, in Vietnam, the savory delights of Portuguese cuisine have not yet reached the same popularity as their Italian neighbors. Residents of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have certainly enjoyed offerings from restaurants like Don Italiano, but there remains a strong desire for something unique yet familiar. The launch of Lisboa Café comes at an opportune moment to satisfy that craving.
You can find the café at 119 Cong Quynh Street, situated near the bustling expat area of Pham Ngu Lao. The venue not only serves delicious Portuguese cuisine but also offers a selection of Portuguese wines and live music.
