Japan's leading hip-hop artist Coma-Chi is set to entertain Vietnamese hip-hop fans in Hanoi on August 23 and Hoi An on August 26, thanks to the collaboration with the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange and CAMA ATK, Hanoi's prominent independent music promoter.
Coma-Chi first garnered attention from hip-hop enthusiasts in 2003 with her vibrant performances on the fashionable streets of Tokyo. It took three years for her to achieve a major breakthrough with her solo album, Day Before Blue, which received acclaim for its solid rhymes and 90s hip-hop influences blended with a modern twist. In 2009, her artistry reached new heights with Beauty or the Beast, an album that showcased her talent for creating compelling self-written lyrics.
Coma-Chi's debut in Hanoi and Hoi An as part of the Hoi An – Japan Festival 2025 offers hip-hop fans a chance to experience her unique sound and understand why she is the best-selling hip-hop artist in Japan. Tickets for the Hanoi venue (CAMA ATK, 73a Mai Hac De Street) are priced at VND 50,000, with free admission for students. Meanwhile, entry to the concert at Song Hoai Square in Hoi An is also free for all attendees.
