Japan’s leading hiphop artist Coma-Chi will entertain Vietnamese hiphop fan in Hanoi (23 August) and Hoi An (26 August) thanks to the invitation of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange and CAMA ATK, Hanoi’s major independent music promoter.

Coma-Chi first got the attention of hiphop fans and plaudits in 2003 with her funky performances in the hippest streets of Tokyo. It took 3 years for  her to make a breakthrough with the solo album Day Before Blue, which was praised for solid rhyming and influence from 90s hiphop with a twist. In 2009, her singing ability and artistry were elevated to the next level with Beauty or the Beast, which brought out her talent for spitting self-made rhymes.

Comachi’s debut in Hanoi and Hoi An as part of the Hoi An – Japan Festival 2012 will give hiphop fans a chance to enjoy her unique sounds and explain why she’s the best selling hiphop artist in Japan. Ticket for the Hanoi venue (CAMA ATK, 73a Mai Hac De Street) is priced at VND 50,000 and free of charge for students. Meanwhile admission is free for concert-goers at Song Hoai Square in Hoi An.
