Hue sets rain as its tourism product

In common perspective of service providers, rainy season is not an ideal time for tourism activities.

In the common perspective of service providers, the rainy season is often viewed as an unfavorable time for tourism activities. However, the administration of Hue has a different outlook, positioning the city's rain as a unique tourism asset. This perspective has led to the development of a wide array of activities designed specifically for visitors during the rainy season.

This initiative stems from the fact that Hue experiences one of the highest levels of rainfall in Vietnam, making rain a distinctive feature of the city and an integral part of its charm.

The newly launched rainy season tourism products feature diverse offerings, including rain-watching tours and culinary experiences centered around “rainy dishes.” Innovative infrastructure such as transparent roofs and covered vehicles have been introduced, promising visitors an unparalleled experience amid the rain.

While Hue is a sought-after tourist destination in central Vietnam, it has traditionally struggled with a limited variety of tourism offerings that can attract repeat visitors. The introduction of these unique rainy season tourism products is designed to serve as fresh attractions. This initiative aligns with the National Tourism Year in North Central Vietnam and is part of the ongoing efforts to promote Hue as a dynamic destination for travelers.
