HCM City’s Travel Firms Restart Tourism Services

After a long time of social distancing, travel firms in Ho Chi Minh city have resumed tour services after pilot tours to “green zones” to the South were launched.

Following the success of eight tours to Can Gio and Cu Chi district organized for over 1,000 healthcare staff in the epidemic, Saigontourist Travel Service Company is the leading firm to organize the package tours to these “green zones” under the closed program. The company also signed a tourism contract with Bao Viet Insurance to protect the tourists in case of coronavirus infection during the tour. The tours to Can Gio cost VND1.6 million and VND680,000 per person respectively and start from 15 October on weekends.

Since October, Vietravel company also reopened tours to “green zones” in Ho Chi Minh City with the capacity of transportation and tourism services not exceeding 50%. Vietravel’s representative shared that this not only gradually restores the economy but also contributes to research the demand and interest of travelers, since then creating proper tourism products in the future.

Travel firms are encouraged to connect to relevant agencies to apply the “travel bubble” to design tours to green zones.
