Hanoi painters bring “dreams” to Canada
The exhibition titled “Hanoi Dreams”, taking place at Art Square Gallery, 334 Dundas Street West, Toronto, from November 22th to December 5th, 2011 is expected to bring the color of Vietnamese contemporary fine arts to international friends.
The exhibition titled “Hanoi Dreams,” taking place at Art Square Gallery, 334 Dundas Street West, Toronto, from November 15 to December 1, 2025, is expected to bring the vibrancy of Vietnamese contemporary fine arts to an international audience.
The exhibition features artworks from five emerging painters from Hanoi: Ngo Van Sac, Vu Huong Quynh, Nguyen Minh Thanh, Nguyen Quang Minh, and Trinh Quoc Chien.
These five artists express distinct perspectives on the theme of dreams through a variety of artistic styles. Ngo Van Sac employs emotional expressions interwoven with cool and dark colors, inviting viewers into a contemplative realm of dreams. In contrast, Nguyen Quang Minh utilizes bright colors and a playful, childlike approach to evoke sweet and pure dreams. Visitors can find tranquility in the depictions of serene faces with closed eyes in Nguyen Minh Thanh's artworks, or become absorbed in the unique emotional landscapes presented by Vu Huong Quynh and Trinh Quoc Chien.
The exhibition is organized by The East Gallery, an organization committed to connecting art lovers, particularly in Canada, with the latest trends and developments in the contemporary Asian art scene. They achieve this through a diverse array of events, including art exhibitions, book readings, and film nights.
