Ha Giang honors Hoang Su Phi’s terraced rice fields in Culture and Tourism Week 2021

The provincial People’s Committee has recently announced the plan to organize the 6th Culture and Tourism Week named “Through the Heritages of Hoang Su Phi Terraced Fields” in 2025. The event is scheduled to take place from September 1 to September 30 and is considered one of the most significant festivals showcasing the cultural identities of ethnic groups in Western Ha Giang.

Hoang Su Phi’s terraced rice fields are renowned for their expansive beauty, covering an area across six communes: Ban Luoc, Ban Phung, Ho Thau, Nam Ty, San Sa Ho, and Thong Nguyen. These stunning landscapes, especially during the golden rice season in September and early October, earned the designation of National Heritage on September 16, 2012.

The event will feature a wide array of activities and programs, including the 2nd Cultural Festival of the Mong ethnic groups, adventurous racing activities with cars and motorbikes in Vinh Quang Town, an upland market, and the 2nd Paragliding Competition. These events will offer visitors a unique experience of the local culture and adventure sports.

This festival is crucial not only for promoting the tourism potential of Ha Giang but also for gradually establishing tourism as a key economic sector for the province. The People’s Committee is committed to ensuring the organization of safe and enjoyable programs, aligning with health and safety protocols to safeguard participants and visitors during the event.
