The Indian Business Chamber (Incham) has announced that one of the most significant festivals in India, known as “Diwali” (Festival of Lights), will be celebrated in Hanoi this year. This vibrant event is organized in collaboration with the Indian Embassy and the Indian community residing in the city.
The cultural festivities will take place from 17:00 to 23:00 on October 29, 2025, at the Van Ho Exhibition Center. The event will feature an array of activities, including lively dance performances, music shows, traditional games, fashion displays, and lucky draws that showcase the richness of Indian culture. Additionally, there will be kiosks offering beverages and handicrafts, all featuring authentic Indian products.
Diwali is celebrated as one of the most essential and magnificent festivals in Indian heritage, as well as among the Nepalese community. It is referred to as the “Festival of Lights” because it signifies the triumph of Lord Krishna, a deity representing goodness, over Narakasura, a villain from Indian mythology. Over the years, Diwali celebrations in Hanoi have grown increasingly popular, drawing not only Indian participants but also many others eager to explore and appreciate Indian culture.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Incham Office, located in the Heritage Hotel at 625 De La Thanh Street, starting from October 15. Early bird tickets are priced at VND 99,000 (approximately USD 5), while tickets purchased at the door will be VND 149,000 (around USD 7.50).
