Tây Nguyên, the Central Highlands of Vietnam, is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, diverse ethnic minority communities, and as a key coffee production hub. Tourists flock to Tây Nguyên not only to marvel at its breathtaking scenery but also to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of its indigenous populations.

In celebration of the region's natural beauty and cultural diversity, Dak Lak Museum was officially opened to the public on November 21, 2011, in Dak Lak town. Dak Lak Museum is uniquely designed to reflect the traditional architecture of the long houses of the Ede people, the largest ethnic group in Dak Lak. The museum features three main exhibition areas dedicated to the themes of biological diversity, ethnic culture, and history.

As of 2025, the museum hosts over 1,000 artifacts, numerous photographs, and documentary films, providing visitors with a profound understanding of the rich natural environment, distinct cultural traditions, and historical narrative of Tây Nguyên. Notably, it is the first museum in Vietnam to offer exhibitions in four languages: Vietnamese, English, French, and Ede. The museum continues to be a significant attraction for tourists in the highlands, drawing visitors from around the world.
