While many of these gatherings take place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue, there are plenty of events occurring in smaller towns and countryside areas as well. 1. Holi Festival (3rd March 2025)

Indian expats and those who appreciate Indian culture should not miss the Holi Festival organized by the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (InCham) at RMIT University, Ho Chi Minh City, on Saturday, March 3, 2025. The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration filled with colors, where participants can enjoy complimentary drinks, Indian cuisine, and partake in games and dances. Holi Festival is a unique cultural event that marks the arrival of spring and celebrates the festival of colors among Indian Hindus.

2. Hanoi and Saigon Flea Market (4th March 2025)

The inaugural Hanoi Flea Market and the third event in Saigon will take place on March 4, 2025, welcoming vintage enthusiasts from both cities. These markets operate in a manner similar to artisan markets, featuring unique handmade, vintage, and second-hand items like clothing, antiques, accessories, and home decor. The last Saigon market attracted over 1,500 local and international visitors. Vendors can apply for stalls, with funds generated from the event donated to local charities.

3. International Women’s Day (8th March 2025)

As the biggest celebration for women approaches, a series of events will occur across major cities in Vietnam. Tourists, particularly women and girls, can look forward to attractive promotions and sales at shopping malls, restaurants, and spas. A variety of musical performances and art shows will also take place throughout the country.

Lotte K-mart (469 Nguyen Huu Tho, District 7, HCMC) will host a large sale on women’s fashion and household goods from March 1 to 14.

Ninomax (address pending) is offering a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal on women’s apparel from March 1 to 8. Many travel agencies are introducing discounts of 10-20% for women travelers who book tours on March 8.

A jazz concert will be held at L'Espace in Hanoi on Women’s Day, with tickets starting from $3.

4. Saigon Cyclo Challenge (10th March 2025)

The Saigon Cyclo Challenge (SCC) will take place on March 10, 2025, at The Crescent, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Participants will enjoy a unique experience while enhancing their team-building skills. The event is a fantastic opportunity for foreigners to learn more about the cyclo, a popular means of transport in Vietnam during the 20th century.

5. Music Bank World Tour (15th March 2025)

For K-pop fans, March 2025 will be unmissable as popular groups such as Super Junior, CNBlue, B2ST, IU, SISTAR, SECRET, and Davichi come to Vietnam for the Music Bank World Tour. The event will be hosted at the Vietnam National Convention Center on Pham Hung Street, Hanoi, as part of the Vietnam-Korean Friendship Relations program on March 15, 2025.

6. Duyen Dang Viet Nam (24th-25th March 2025)

Duyen Dang Viet Nam, the largest fashion event featuring renowned designers, models, and singers, will occur on March 24-25, 2025, in Hue City. This event kicks off a series of exciting celebrations leading up to the Hue Festival in April. Tourists will be captivated by the meticulous organization and elaborate performances featuring the latest fashion designs.

7. Tet Han Thuc (24th March 2025)

Tet Han Thuc, or the Cold Goods Tet, is a significant festival in Vietnamese culture. It is celebrated on the 3rd day of the third lunar month, serving as a time to honor ancestors. This is an opportunity for tourists to experience traditional Vietnamese cakes such as banh troi and banh chay, made from glutinous rice and boiled in hot water. These festive treats, along with their ingredients, can be found in markets throughout the country.

8. Earth Hour 2025 (31st March 2025)

To raise awareness about global warming and climate change, the Earth Hour program will continue its tradition on the last Saturday of March. In 2025, join this important event on March 31, 2025, at August Revolution Square, in front of the Opera House, Trang Tien, Hanoi. The main feature of the event runs from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., encouraging everyone to turn off their lights and use candles to symbolize the need for energy conservation. Additional programs, such as "Save Energy" photo contests and "Green Sunday" community clean-ups around Hoan Kiem Lake, are scheduled for earlier dates in March.

9. Hung King Temple Festival (31st March 2025)

Since 2007, the 10th day of the third lunar month has been designated a public holiday in Vietnam to commemorate the Hung Kings. Legend has it that the Vietnamese nation was founded by Emperor Hung Vuong nearly 5,000 years ago. To honor the founding fathers, the Hung Vuong National Altar was established in 250 BC in Phu Tho Province. During this festival, taking place from March 27 to 31, 2025, Vietnamese citizens from across the country gather at the altar to pay their respects to their ancestors.
