To commemorate the August Revolution and Independence Day, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is hosting a series of art programs throughout 2025. This year marks the 80th anniversary of these pivotal events in Vietnamese history, and the performances will celebrate the enduring legacy of President Ho Chi Minh and the contributions of the Communist Party to the nation’s struggle for liberation. Additionally, the programs will highlight the significant achievements of Vietnam over the past decade since the Doi Moi period.

Performances will take place across a variety of venues, extending from central locations such as Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Ba Kieu Temple, and My Dinh Stadium to more remote areas including Ba Vi and Thach That. The initiative aims to spread the spirit of the holiday to every corner of the city, fostering a festive atmosphere for all residents and visitors alike.

In the lead-up to these national celebrations, information about the August Revolution and Independence Day will be disseminated through local broadcasting stations. Cultural exhibitions will be held at notable attractions such as the Hanoi Museum, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hoa Lo Prison, and the Temple of Literature, showcasing Vietnam’s rich history. Thousands of banners will be displayed along main thoroughfares to welcome the anticipated celebration. This stirring commemoration allows the older generation to reflect on their cherished memories while captivating younger listeners with stories of resilience and pride passed down through the years.
