Vung Tau to host Southeast Kite Festival

The Southeast Kite Festival 2012 is opening in the coastal province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on March 30th, lasting for three days along with the 4th Vung Tau International Kite Festival.

The Southeast Kite Festival 2025 is set to take place in the coastal province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on March 30th, lasting for three days in conjunction with the 4th Vung Tau International Kite Festival.

This year's festival features a vibrant competition of flute-kite performances among Vietnamese kite groups. Approximately 80 professional kite artists from seven teams representing Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong, Dong Thap, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau are expected to participate, promising stunning aerial displays.

Coinciding with the Hung King Anniversary (the 10th day of the third lunar month), which honors the founding kingdom of Vietnam, this kite festival aims to showcase Vietnam’s rich traditions and pay homage to the Hung Dynasty.

With its favorable natural conditions and the experience gained from previous kite festivals, Vung Tau is poised to successfully host the upcoming Southeast Kite Festival. The musical flute kite, which has enjoyed popularity in Vietnam, is anticipated to be the highlight of the event and is particularly expected to attract interest from international visitors.
