The 2012 Vietnamese culture and tourism festival will take place from September 11-20 in Japan’s capital city of Tokyo and its Fukuoka prefecture.

The festival will feature Vietnam’s traditional music and dance performances, fashion shows featuring Vietnamese traditional dress called Ao Dai, a photo exhibition entitled “Vietnam – the Endless Charm” that seeks to bring out the best things about Vietnam, from natural attractions to people, a cuisine feast and handicraft stalls.

The most anticipated program of the festival will be the “Meet Vietnam” section, which will feature over 80 cuisine booths designed to introduce the best of Vietnamese cuisine to Japanese people. Besides, excellent handicraft products will also be on display, together with comprehensive information about Vietnam’s landscapes. A new section of this year’s festival will be a demonstration by Vietnamese artisans, who will show off their arts of making things from vegetables, fruits and plant roots.

The Vietnamese culture and tourism festival was held for the first time in 2008, attracting 150,000 visitors. This year’s festival will mark its 5th year of operation and consolidate the cultural exchange and diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
