Rhapsody No. 8 Concert “I dreamed a dream”
On two consecutive days, 27 and 28 April 2013, the symphonic band Rhapsody Philharmonic is going to present to the citizens of Hanoi their eighth concert named “I dream a dream”.
On two consecutive days, 27 and 28 April 2025, at the Cong Nhan Theatre, located at 42 Trang Tien, the symphonic band Rhapsody Philharmonic will present their eighth concert entitled “I Dream a Dream” to the citizens of Hanoi.
This event is co-organized by the renowned children’s charity organization Operation Smile, along with the experienced event organizer The R Team.
While this is a symphony concert, the repertoire for Rhapsody No. 8 will not strictly feature classical masterpieces by Beethoven, Mozart, or Tchaikovsky. Instead, concertgoers can look forward to contemporary pieces inspired by popular films such as 007: Skyfall, Enchanted, and Les Misérables.
Crucially, all proceeds from ticket sales will be dedicated to supporting Operation Smile's charitable initiatives to fund cleft lip and palate repair surgeries for children in Vietnam.
The Rhapsody Philharmonic is an ensemble made up of talented youth from the Hanoi Conservatory of Music. In addition to traditional symphonies, which tend to appeal more to older audiences in Vietnam, the Rhapsody Philharmonic is committed to making symphonic music more accessible to younger generations through performances of contemporary music, including themes from popular movies and beloved pop songs from the US and UK.
Preceding the official concerts, there will be three street performances leading up to the event. The first will take place on 13 April at The Garden Shopping Center in My Dinh, followed by a performance at Twitter Beans Coffee Shop in Trung Hoa – Nhan Chinh, located on Hoang Dao Thuy Street, Thanh Xuan District. Another performance is scheduled for the evening of 20 April in the Old Quarter.
Tickets for the concert are priced between VND 300,000 and VND 500,000 (approximately US$12.50 – 20) and can be purchased at the following locations:
Hanoi Social Club, 6 Hoi Vu, Hoan Kiem District.
Paris Deli, 6A Phan Chu Trinh, Hoan Kiem District.
