On two consecutive days, 27 and 28 April 2013 at Cong Nhan Theatre 42 Trang Tien, the symphonic band Rhapsody Philharmonic is going to present to the citizens of Hanoi their eighth concert named “I dream a dream”.

This event is co-organized by the famous children’s charity organization Operation Smile and the veteran event organizer The R Team.

Although it is a symphony concert, sonatas that are going to be performed in Rhapsody No. 8 are not classic compositions of Beethoven, Mozart or Tchaikovsky but contemporary compositions extracted from famous movies such as 007 Skyfall , Enchanted or Les Miserable, etc.

More importantly, all money collected from tickets sold would be donated to Operation Smile charitable cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children in Vietnam.

Rhapsody Philharmonic is a symphonic band composed of young talents of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music. Besides playing classic symphonies, which are only preferred by older audiences in Vietnam, Rhapsody Philharmonic is giving their hard effort to bring symphonic music closer to the youth by performing contemporary music such as theme songs of famous movies and favorite US UK pop songs.

Before the official concert, there would be three street concerts to kick off the show on 13 April at The Garden Shopping Center in My Dinh and Twitter Beans Coffee Shop Trung Hoa – Nhan Chinh, Hoang Dao Thuy Str, Thanh Xuan Dist; and another one is on the evening of 20 April in the Old Quarter.

Tickets of the concert fall between VND300,000 and VND500,000 (US$15 – 25) and can be bought at following addresses:

Hanoi Social Club, No. 6 Hoi Vu, Hoan Kiem.

Paris Deli, 6A Phan Chu Trinh, Hoan Kiem
