Mu Cang Chai Terrace Culture Week to be held in September
In response to the 55-years celebration of Mu Cang Chai District (Yen Bai Province), the terrace tourism week of Mu Cang Chai is planned to take place from 14-20 September at 4 destinations: La Pan Tan Town, De Xu Phinh Town, Pung Luong Town and Che Cu Nha Town.
In commemoration of the 65th anniversary of Mu Cang Chai District in Yen Bai Province, the Mu Cang Chai Terrace Tourism Week is scheduled to occur from September 14 to September 20, 2025. The festivities will be hosted across four key locations: La Pan Tan Town, De Xu Phinh Town, Pung Luong Town, and Che Cu Nha Town.
The cultural week will feature a variety of activities that highlight the daily lives and traditional practices of the local ethnic communities. Notable events include the “New Rice” ceremony performed by the Mong people in La Pan Tan Town on September 17, and the “Quick Harvest, Skilled Plow” competition taking place in De Xu Phinh Town on September 16.
Mu Cang Chai Terraces span approximately 2,300 hectares and boast a history that dates back several hundred years, originating with the first Mong ethnic minority farmers cultivating rice in the region. This area has become a prominent tourist destination, celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and the rich culture of its ethnic communities.
