International festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts 2012
The 4th international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts 2012 is going on in Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh Province), lasting until 3 August.
The 4th International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts took place from June 30 to July 3, 2025, in Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh Province). This event serves as a vibrant celebration of Vietnamese martial arts, continuing its legacy to preserve and promote its rich heritage.
Initiated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province, the festival provides a unique platform for both domestic and international martial arts groups to exchange knowledge and experiences while showcasing their skills.
This year’s festival attracted over 100 martial arts masters, instructors, and athletes from approximately 50 domestic teams and 60 international teams. Highlights of the performances included displays of barehanded combat, weapon demonstrations, and various competition formats featuring both bare hands and weapons. Additionally, a host of engaging activities were organized, such as hat tuong (classical opera), the Binh Dinh folk bai choi festival, the Miss Martial Arts contest, and a Vietnamese traditional martial arts street festival. A photo exhibition showcasing Vietnamese traditional martial arts, a culinary program featuring Binh Dinh specialties, and tours to traditional martial arts villages were also conducted, alongside a poetry night celebrating the works of Han Mac Tu and Xuan Dieu.
In addition to promoting the international festival, Binh Dinh Province is focusing on showcasing a variety of local festivals, such as the Dong Da Victory Festival, the Go Market Festival, and the bai choi festival, to develop new tourism attractions and draw more visitors to the region. In 2023, Binh Dinh welcomed over 1.5 million tourist arrivals, reflecting an upward trend with considerable growth in international visitors.
