Hoi An to host Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Event
The ancient city of Hoi An is honored to hold the 9th Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event on August 21st and 23nd, in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and the Japan Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam.
The ancient city of Hoi An is proud to host the 11th Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event on August 21st and 23rd, 2025, in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and the Japan Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam. Following the success of ten festivals since 2003, this upcoming event aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of both nations and further strengthen the ties between them.
A series of cultural and sports exchange activities will highlight the most significant cultural traits of both Japan and Vietnam. This event provides a remarkable opportunity for attendees to enjoy captivating Japanese musical performances, experience the exquisite culinary arts of the Land of the Rising Sun, and admire the traditional clothing, including Kimono and Yukata, renowned for their elegance.
Acclaimed Japanese art troupes, including the Iwami Kagura royal dance troupe, Daisuwa Taiko drum troupe, and Sakai City’s lion dance troupe, are set to deliver their most impressive performances at the event.
Simultaneously, Vietnam will take this opportunity to display its rich customs and traditions through mesmerizing dragon dances, vibrant folk music performances, enchanting floating lantern festivals, engaging culinary activities, street exhibitions of photographs, and exciting cross-river boat races. Hoi An ancient town, with its unique blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese influences, continues to be a premier destination for tourists from around the globe, particularly attracting visitors from Japan.
