Hoi An to host Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Event

The ancient city of Hoi An is honored to hold the 9th Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event on August 21st and 23nd, in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and the Japan Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam.

The ancient city of Hoi An is honored to hold the 9th Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event on August 21st and 23nd, in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and the Japan Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam. The success of eight festivals since 2003 promises the outstanding performance of this upcoming event and further promote the close-knitted relationship between the two countries.

A series of cultural and sports exchange activities will feature the most distinguished cultural traits of both Japan and Vietnam. It is a golden chance for audiences to enjoy Japanese musical performance to the utmost, contemplate the quintessence of culinary arts originating from the land of sunrise, and admire the sophisticatedly elegant beauty of the country’s traditional clothing, including Kimono and Yukata.

Well-known art troupes of Japan, consisting of Iwami Kagura royal dance troupe, Daisuwa Taiko drum troupe, and Sakai City’s lion dance troupe, will bring to the event their most impressive piece of arts.

Meanwhile, Vietnam is to make full use of the event to showcase their proud customs and traditions such as dragon dances, folk music performances, floating lantern festivals, culinary activities, street exhibitions of photographs, cross-river boat races and so on. Hoi An ancient town with the exceptional charm which is the fine combination of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese culture has been a top notch destination for tourists from all over the world and to Japanese, especially.
