Con Son Kiep Bac Festival to start on September 30

According to The People Committee of Hai Duong Province, the 2012 Con Son – Kiep Bac Festival is planned to take place from September 30 to October 5, 2012 (August 15 to 20 in Lunar Calendar).

According to The People Committee of Hai Duong Province, the 2012 Con Son – Kiep Bac Festival is planned to take place from September 30 to October 5, 2012 (August 15 to 20 in Lunar Calendar). This coincides with the event at which Con Son – Kiep Bac will receive its national relic title.

This year Con Son - Kiep Bac festival is held predominantly to celebrate the 712th years of death of General Tran Hung Dao, one of the greatest heroes in Vietnam history. During 6 days of the event, there will be series of activities, including rites and traditional art performances such as lantern festival at Luc Dau River or wish-for-luck festival. There are also traditional games and sports for participants to join in like canoeing, wrestling or duck catching competition.

Con Son – Kiep Bac relic is a complex of several historical sites located at Chi Linh, Hai Duong. Those sites are precious live documentaries related to the victory of people in Tran Regime over invader, as well as two national heroes during those times: Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Trai.
