2012 European film festival to kick start

European movie festival in Vietnam 2012, part of European Days, is taking place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang on 16, 17 and 18 May respectively.

European movie festival in Vietnam 2012, part of European Days, is taking place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang on 16, 17 and 18 May respectively.

Presented on this festival are 15 movies and animations; and 6 short movies from 14 European countries. They are considered the most featured movies to represent contemporary cinema industry in Europe, as well as to reflect new trend of movie production in this old continent. Many of these movies has won numerous renowned awards, such as Denmark movie “In a better world” which won both Oscar and Golden Globe in 2011 for Best Foreign Language Movie.

Having been organized in Vietnam since 2000 by Delegation of European Union in Vietnam, Europe’s Film festival is the successful cultural events which attract a huge number of people. The festival is considered a pathway leadingVietnamese audiences to most featured cinema masterpieces of European producers, as well as a bridge to bring European culture closer to this country.

Tickets are offered free to audiences in several selected locations in Hanoi (from 11 May), Ho Chi Minh City and Danang (from12 May). Further details about the movies, locations for obtaining tickets or calendar of movies are available on the event’s website at europeday2012.com
