Con Dao Airport (VCS)
Co Ong Airport is located on Con Dao Island in Ba Ria Vung Tau province, Vietnam. Originally established as a military airbase, it now operates civil flights as well. As of 2025, significant investments have been made by the government to enhance the airport’s infrastructure, allowing it to accommodate larger aircraft, including the Airbus A320 and A321 models.
Currently, there are two airlines that operate direct flights to Co Ong Airport: Vasco and Bamboo Airways. Each week, Vasco offers approximately 30 flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao Island and several additional flights from Can Tho. The fares for these routes range around 900,000 – 1,500,000 VND (approximately 38 – 63 USD) for the Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao Island route, and 750,000 – 1,200,000 VND (about 32 – 51 USD) for the Can Tho to Con Dao Island trip. Bamboo Airways, known for competitive pricing, offers one daily flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao Island, with fares starting as low as 740,000 VND (approximately 31 USD).
From Co Ong Airport to the Island Center
Transportation options on Con Dao Island can be limited, making it challenging to reach the island's center from Co Ong Airport. For groups traveling together, charter buses are available for a more direct transfer. Individual travelers may also have the option to share a ride with other visitors on these charter buses at a nominal cost of around 50,000 VND (approximately 2 USD).
