Korean Air Flights to Vietnam

As of 2025, Korean Air operates three direct flights from Seoul to Hanoi. Two of these flights are available daily, one departing at 19:30 (local time) and the other at 10:05. An additional flight on this route operates on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 18:05 each week.

For flights from Seoul to Ho Chi Minh City, Korean Air offers two daily options. One flight departs at 19:15 and arrives at 22:20, while the other takes off at 10:15 and lands at 13:40.

Ticket prices vary based on demand and booking time, with round-trip fares starting at approximately $500. A one-way trip to Hanoi takes around 5 hours, while flights to Ho Chi Minh City last roughly 7 hours.

In addition to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Korean Air also provides direct flights to Da Nang and Nha Trang.

Baggage Allowance on Korean Air Flights From South Korea To Vietnam

If traveling from another location with a transit in South Korea before heading to Vietnam, the baggage allowance from your original departure point may apply throughout your journey.

Cabin luggage

Passengers are permitted the following:

  • Economy Class: 1 item weighing up to 12kg with total dimensions not exceeding 115cm.
  • Prestige and First Class: 2 items, each weighing up to 18kg, and total dimensions not exceeding 115cm.
  • Permitted extra items include a laptop, camera, mobile phone, briefcase, or handbag.

Checked baggage

The general dimension rule for checked luggage states the combined dimensions cannot exceed 158cm.

Economy Class

  • For flights with a stop or final destination in the Americas: 2 pieces at 23kg each (50 lbs each).
  • For flights to/from Brazil: 2 pieces at 32kg each (66 lbs each).
  • For other destinations: total weight limit of 20kg (44 lbs).

Prestige Class

  • Flights with a stop or final destination in the Americas: 2 pieces at 32kg each (66 lbs each).
  • For other destinations: total weight limit of 30kg (66 lbs).

First Class

  • Flights with a stop or final destination in the Americas: 2-3 pieces at 32kg each (66 lbs each).
  • For other destinations: total weight limit of 40kg (88 lbs).

Infants

  • Infant travelers are allowed one collapsible stroller, portable cradle, or child car seat; as well as one bag measuring less than 115cm/45ins and weighing a maximum of 10kg/22lbs.

Restricted check-in items

  • Valuable personal items such as jewelry, laptops, mobile phones, and precious metals.
  • Samples, fragile items, perishables, and similar items.

Korean Air Prestige Class

The Prestige Class on Korean Air offers enhanced comfort, featuring seats that can be converted into fully flat beds for sleeping. Each seat includes controls for adjusting position and an AC outlet for electronic devices. Passengers enjoy a personal 15.4-inch LCD screen and an entertainment system with a variety of options, including movies, music, and games. Meals in this class are meticulously prepared with high-quality ingredients and served in a manner reminiscent of top restaurants, featuring a diverse menu with dishes and beverages from Korea and around the world.

Inflight Meals

Many flights between South Korea and Vietnam are overnight, so passengers can expect a snack and a full breakfast service.
