Vietnamese chef to compete in the Culinary Olympics

Do Chi Cong, the head chef of the Hanoi Metropole hotel, will represent Vietnam at the prestigious international culinary competition, the Bocuse d’Or Asia, which will take place in Shanghai, China, from June 12 to June 14, 2025.

Do Chi Cong triumphed over a multitude of skilled competitors to secure first place in the national Bocuse d’Or competition held in Khanh Hoa province last year. He will be accompanied by Metropole’s head chef Andre Bosia, Didier Corlou - President of Bocuse d’Or Vietnam, and his assistant, Ta Thi Ha Ly, during the Asian event. For the competition, Chi Cong plans to blend his favorite ingredients, five-spice powder and young green rice, with the required ingredient of beef to create a signature dish. The top four chefs from this Asian contest will progress to the grand finale held in Lyon, France, in January 2026.

The Bocuse d’Or is a biennial world chef championship often regarded as the culinary equivalent of the Olympic Games. Since its inception in 1987, this esteemed competition has offered young chefs an excellent platform to showcase their talents and serves as a significant boost for their culinary careers.
