According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the country welcomed approximately 1.2 million international tourists in August 2025.

In the first eight months of the year, Vietnam received around 7.8 million foreign tourists, continuing its impressive annual growth rate of 10.5%. The leading country of origin for visitors to Vietnam is South Korea, which accounted for a remarkable 40% increase; Malaysia follows closely with a 30% rise, while Japan and Thailand saw increases of about 18%.

On a related note, provinces in the North Central Coastal Region, including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue, attracted nearly 9.5 million visitors in the first eight months, generating a revenue of approximately VND 5,500 billion.

These provinces drew a significant number of tourists by hosting a variety of engaging activities as part of the 'National Tourism Year-Hue 2025,' including the Hue Festival 2025, celebrations of the Vietnam-Lao Friendship and Solidarity Year, and ceremonies commemorating the 45th anniversary of Quang Tri's Liberation Day. The recognition of Ho Dynasty Citadel as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site continues to enhance the region's appeal.
