Vietnam Airlines to increase 1000 flights this Tet Holiday
Information from the Vietnam Airlines Corporation revealed that the national flag carrier is planning to massively increase the number of flights on the peak season of this Tet Holiday
Information from the Vietnam Airlines Corporation reveals that the national flag carrier is planning a significant increase in the number of flights for the upcoming Tet Holiday season in 2025, which will take place from February 10 to March 10, 2025.
Accordingly, air travelers will benefit from approximately 1,000 additional flights, equating to 174,500 extra seats on the ten busiest air routes.
Specifically, Vietnam Airlines will provide around 82,600 seats for the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route, marking a 27% increase compared to the current offering. While the airline typically supplies about 5,300 seats per day per round trip, on peak days, this number might soar to 10,300 seats, representing a 2.3 times increase from the normal operating rate.
On the Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang route, the airline plans to offer an additional 46,250 seats (a 34% increase compared to normal service). On average, there would be around 2,450 seats available per day per round trip, with peak days seeing that number rise to approximately 5,800 seats per day per round trip, equating to a 3.2 times increase over the standard rate.
For other domestic routes, Vietnam Airlines will add up to eight additional routes from Ho Chi Minh City to popular destinations such as Phu Quoc, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Hue, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Buon Ma Thuot, and Pleiku. The total seat increase will be 45,650, which is a 20% uptick, focusing primarily on routes with higher demand, particularly Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh, Nha Trang, Hue, and Quy Nhon.
With this expansion, Vietnam Airlines aims to alleviate the ticket shortages that have been commonly experienced during the Tet holiday in recent years.
Customers wishing to purchase tickets in advance can book online or at Vietnam Airlines retail locations. Approximately 75% of the total tickets will be available starting November 15, 2024, and the remaining 25% will be released in mid-December 2024.
